Our people are our most valuable resource as they provide that vital link between care and friendship, and without a doubt, it’s their dedication that makes the real difference to the environment our residents live in.

We feel it’s important to invest in our staff and believe that if they are appropriately trained and given the time and resources to carry out their duties, they will deliver the highest standards of care and bring out the best in our residents.

The Cedars Team

Our homes wouldn’t provide the level of care if our staff didn’t share our passion of caring for older people. Our staff are the reason for our success and make the difference every day to each one of our residents’ lives.

Being a family run company we can get to know our staff, they aren’t just a number or another carer doing a job. Many of our employees have been with us for a number of years, and have even introduced other family members who are now working for us in our homes. We like to think that this is testament to our person centred approach and know that if we care for our staff and make them feel valued they will continue to deliver the highest standards of care.

Our staff have extensive specialist training in nursing and dementia care and we work closely with the Alzheimer’s Society recommendations in respect of appropriate environment and training. All nursing homes have qualified RMN and RGNs and over half our care staff are qualified to NVQ level 2 and 3. In addition, our staff regularly undertakes additional training in manual handling, infection control, health & safety, food hygiene, first aid and specialist dementia courses.

Daily activities and sensory stimulation are a priority for us at Cedars Care Group, as we know the difference they can make to the lives of our residents. In fact, we think they are so important we employ dedicated activity coordinators or occupational therapists to oversee this key area.

Each of our care homes has a dedicated manager who has a real passion for good quality care and wants to make a difference. They give individual support for our staff and supervise the smooth running of the home, the activity programme and health and safety compliance, making sure that we are at the forefront of the latest medical techniques and providing stimulating surroundings for our residents.
