Woodlands Manor care Home

Welcome home to true care for elderly residents in Southport, Merseyside.

It’s the little things that makes Woodlands Manor a real home away from home. Here, we’ve combined a stimulating environment conducive to dementia care with the tasteful interiors of a lovingly preserved property.

Woodlands Manor has 26 bedrooms with stylish décor and high standard furnishings. Our themed communal areas are where residents put their feet up in the company of others and/or join in social activities. This includes a bright and airy Garden Room, overlooking our garden.

A resident’s kitchenette is easily accessible to all, allowing residents and close family to help themselves to light refreshments as and when they want. Dedicated staff are always on hand  to assist with individual needs and guide activities. Woodlands Manor also boasts a Remembrance Garden with memorial plaques. This is where we hold our annual remembrance day for past residents.

At Woodlands Manor, we specialise in End of Life Care, and have received the Gold Standards Framework award by the National GSF Centre. It is one of two Cedars Care Group care homes based in Southport. The other, is Cedar Grange Care Centre which also holds the GSF award for end of life care.  In 2021 we were awarded GSF Platinum accreditation status, of which we are extremely proud.

In 2024, Woodlands Manor was awarded the Dementia Care Accreditation Accolade.

Administered by the National Dementia Care Accreditation Scheme, Accreditation is the

benchmark for good practice and excellence in Dementia Care. It means that

Woodlands Manor is being effectively managed and governed to the nationally agreed

industry standard for Dementia Care. Becoming Accredited demonstrates that the care

home takes effective Dementia Care seriously for its residents and has been recognised as

a specialist provider.

Accreditation gives confidence to families and the people who live in Woodlands Manor, that they are being supported to the best possible standard. It also gives confidence to new prospective families who may wish to consider Woodlands Manor for their relative who is living with dementia.

Accreditation covers care homes of all types and sizes – from the smallest family-run care homes to national care groups – and more than 500 care homes are currently registered for the scheme across the UK.  More information about the Accreditation scheme can be found at www.nadcas.org.uk.

Activities for Body & Mind

Each resident has a ‘This is Me’ profile, drawn up when they first arrive. 'This is Me' profiles keep us aware of a resident’s existing hobbies, skills, and interests. They also guide us when we are introducing residents to something new.

We believe that every individual has his/her own story to tell. At Cedars Care Group homes, we make it our business to get to know the people we care for by spending time with them. Remembering past achievements, and the good old days, often helps to maintain a sense of self and fulfilment.

Family visits and family involvement are vital to the wellbeing of our residents. That’s why we aim to provide an environment that’s comfortable and invigorating for both residents and their visitors. Our planned activities and events are key opportunities for family participation and support. While the option of privacy is always available.

Personal Space & Personalised Care

Familiarity and reminiscence is invaluable. It keeps our residents connected with life; can ease the transition into care; and is helpful in improving memory skills for people with Alzheimer’s. At Woodlands Manor, all our residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with small belongings and photographs. This inspires a sense of personal space and belonging.

We offer several types of stay depending on the level of support required: Residential Care; Convalescent Care; Respite Care; as well as Dementia Care for early and middle stage dementia. Each resident receives personalised support in accordance with his/her individual care plan, under the supervision of a dedicated home manager.

At Woodlands Manor we actively seek feedback. It helps us ensure our care home continues to offer the highest quality support and care, tailored to the needs of our individual residents.

Meals

Hearty, home cooking really makes a house a home. Our chef creates a wide range of balanced, nutritious meals from locally sourced produce which supports the community. These are prepared daily and in accordance with residents’ dietary requirements. Each day presents varied menu options, allowing a choice of seasonal hot and cold dishes. Popular choices are roast dinners, fish & chips and traditional puddings. Special requests for dishes can be made and alternative options are always available. Meals can be taken in the dining room or served in the resident’s room if they prefer. Find out More

Testimonials

B F

Wife of Resident

10/04/25

"Finding Woodlands Manor and being able to have my husband stay there has been the best experience for his respite care. I would recommend Woodlands Manor to anyone. The atmosphere of friendliness and happiness is obvious. My husband's care was brilliant.
I will need care for him as his Alzheimer's
progresses, and I hope I will be able to bring him back to Woodlands Manor. Thank you to the manager and all your wonderful, hardworking staff."
