"I cannot thank you enough for the way you have looked after Flossy over the last ten years. Your warmth, kindness and caring nature shone through from the day she entered her new home. You became her extended family and mine and you are a credit to your profession"
Ash Croft House - Flossy
Hello, my team frequently visit Cedarwood House care home. I visited this week to see two patients. I feel I need to send an email, just to say how impressed I am. Cedarwood is such a lovely place to visit. I always look forward to visiting. The staff are warm and welcoming and treat the residents like their own family members, its also lovely to see the residents enjoy the animals. Recently we have supplied a patient with new stockings which have to be measured each time they are put on. This week I have seen the staff meticulously measure and put them on, which is fantastic.
I could not recommend this care home enough.

My mother became unwell on Saturday 3rd March 2018. I was contacted by Alicia from the home [Cedarwood House Care Home] and advised of her condition and informed that the paramedics had been called and were attending her. Due to the prompt call, I was able to talk to the paramedics about her condition and what action they were taking. The paramedics told me that they were very impressed with the home. They'd found that that the team knew all about my mother and were able to give them full details of her health and medications. They stated that this was not always the case at some care homes, where carers often don't know the residents or even what medication they're on! I can see the need for why your team keeps accurate records.
I would like to say a big thank you to Lucy and the whole team for their professional, caring and comforting attitude in the way they all carry out their, sometimes very difficult, duties. 10/10. It is very reassuring to me as a relative, that I know my mother is in very safe hands in this home from home, as this is her home.
I would like to add that the home is kept spotless, and that the the food is fresh and well prepared. Well done everybody on the team!

The home [Ashcroft House] is undergoing renovations when finished it will be greatly improved. The staff are very helpful and understanding. I have had lunch on three occasions quite pleased with the standard.

Ashcroft House is two large houses combined. It takes a little while to get used to the layout, but the furnishings and decoration are to a high standard. There has been a period of transition when the long-time manager moved on to pastures new. A new manager has been installed and the staff situation has likewise settled, and the 'atmosphere' has improved greatly. Whoever has been responsible for recruiting the staff has done a remarkable job of selecting a group of people who are, without exception, respectful, warm, caring, and very professional. They deal with the residents and visitors/relatives in a calm and reassuring manner. I cannot praise them highly enough.

I visit my sister in law every week and always find the staff to be very attentive and caring towards her and all of the other residents. Her room and the communal areas are spotlessly clean and there are activities on offer for those that want to join in. It is reassuring to myself and my family that she is looked after so well

My grandmother is staying here, and I have to say the staff and management are absolutely brilliant, couldn't ask for better care, it's also great that I can have lunch with my gran, thank you for all you do.

My grandfather was at Woodlands Manor for a number of years. My grandfather suffered from dementia. It was very hard for us to acknowledge and understand what was happening to him. The staff at Woodlands Manor were very understanding with us. They always updated us with his care and alway looked smart. The laundry lady always told us if he needed anything, just ask. My grandfather also told us how he enjoyed the food. The care staff couldn't have offered any better care. He could be challenging at times but they showed excellent skills with him when he was. Sadly my grandfather passed away this year. My grandfather was taken to the hospital and there was nothing they could do. I don't know how they did it but all the staff at Woodlands got him home as fast as they could so he was back in his own bed. They got district nurses to come and help that night so he wasn't in any pain or agitated. I know my grandfather couldn't have been more peaceful the last days of his life and happy.

I often visited my sister when she lived at Woodlands Manor. The staff were always polite and respectful. I feel that my sister and the other residents were treated with the utmost dignity. I witnessed them always laughing with staff. On a couple of occasions, I even witnessed Janet, the cleaner getting them up and dancing with them. When my sister became very poorly the staff were training to do GSF. We had regular meetings about this. I can't express enough the impact it had on my sister in her final days. She was dignified, loved, pain free and passed away peacefully with us all around her at Woodlands Manor. The care and support they gave us was way beyond exceptional. We can't thank them enough.

I have visited this beautiful grade 2 listed building a number of times in my capacity as assisting a gentleman who is there on respite.
I visited the home previously about a year ago and the improvements are large leaps. Having known the compliance manager from her previous work, I would highly recommend Winscombe Hall.
Well done to the nursing team you have turned this home around.

The care team seem well motivated towards constant improvement. In the 16 months my mother has been at Cedar Grange I have seen big improvements in systems and procedures.
I am always warmly greeted when visiting. I've been impressed with the detailed, individual, personal care my mother has received.
My monthly meetings with the care team have been a very important communication channel and proved extremely useful in my understanding of the latest developments at the care home.

My husband has been a resident at this home since April 2016. Few teething problems to start with but all ironed out very quickly. Very pleasant and caring staff, always showing great respect for residents and family members. Staff always cheerful.

My father-in-law has Alzheimer's, the staff have an excellent understanding of the condition. He is treated with respect and I feel that they care about him. He is always clean and shaved and well presented, this means so much to us. Whenever you enter the care home it always smells nice and clean and I've visited at all different times and the standard is the same. As a family we feel that he couldn't be in a nicer place, this is important because the last thing we wanted to do was to have placed him in a care home but it turned out to be the right place for him and we know he's safe and well cared for and happy.
My father is 101 years old and recently moved into Cedarwood House. Prior to the move, he lived with my wife and me for 18 months during which time he became self-imposed bedridden. Since the move, with staff encouragement, he is now getting up and walking with a frame. The ambience of the home is light and airy, the staff are always cheerful and helpful. It is a pleasure to visit my father.
Mum moved into Derwent for temporary respite care and enjoyed her stay so much, she decided to stay on a permanent basis. The staff are friendly and efficient, creating a happy safe and caring environment for the residents.
We have been delighted with the way our Mum has settled at Cedar Grange. We have been impressed with all the care staff and the management, who enable us to all work together to provide the best quality of life possible for Mum.

To management, (cook and care staff),
Thank you very much for the lovely and friendly care you gave to my darling Aunt Dorothy. Dot was very happy.
I am very pleased with the high standard of care my mum is receiving and grateful to all the lovely staff I have met.
My Dad moved to the home last October due to a change in his physical abilities. My initial contact was over the phone and email as I was not able to visit the home prior to Dads admission. The manager was so helpful emailing photos of the rooms available and spending time on the phone. She is also very caring and understanding and this reflects in all of the staff in the home. When I was able to visit Dad, I found the staff helpful and friendly and very patient with him. Any issues regarding his care were reported to me promptly.
Since his admission, I feel like I have got my Dad back again. He looks well cared for and when I call him he sounds happy and back to his old self. I am delighted and very grateful to everyone at the home.

My mother has been resident here for almost a year. She has vascular dementia which is getting worse. Prior to entering Woodlands Manor, she was becoming gradually more insular and avoiding people. When my father died, I moved in with her as a full-time carer, his death caused a huge decline in her mental health to a point where she forgot him altogether, she became more frustrated with everyday tasks and eventually became quite violent, forcing a move to residential care.
When she moved into Woodlands for a few weeks respite while awaiting assessment, she started to come out of her shell. The staff were stimulating her interest in other people, she was in a caring and socially acceptable (to her) 'hotel' with minimal need to go home (her dementia had taken her back 60 years to her parents' house).
She is quite happy now, being looked after hand and foot, with active social interaction, good food and health care and a stable staffing structure without too much change
