Testimonials

"My mum spent two years at Cedarwood House Care Home and lived with complicated insulin-dependent diabetes and Alzheimer's. The carers were very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and showed how much they loved Mum by the way they cared for her individual needs; they really do treat the residents like family. I spent a lot of time at the home visiting Mum so really got to know the staff and residents well. The home was always extremely clean and fresh on every visit. Having home-cooked meals was important as Mum often needed adjustments in her diet and they always accommodated. The overall personal care of your loved one is of utmost importance when finding a forever home for them. Mum was always clean, well dressed and looking her best, which the staff knew was important to her even if she wasn’t aware herself sometimes. Sadly we lost our mum recently to Alzheimer's. For the love, care, compassion and dignity they showed both me and Mum, I will be forever grateful. Would highly recommend Cedarwood House!"

"On the 11th January 2021, my wife who had been a resident at Cedarwood House for two years, passed away from Covid and Alzheimer’s. I know all the staff fought tooth and nail to keep Covid out of the home and this they managed for over a year, for which I am truly thankful to them. The last year has been difficult for residents, relatives and staff due to the various restrictions Covid forced on all of us, but I feel Cedarwood House did their best to keep the home running, often with reduced staffing levels. I was contacted early morning on the 11th January and advised my wife had had a bad night and to prepare myself. I was promised that someone would stay with her until the time came. Thank you for staying with her until 11am when she passed away peacefully. I do not think the home could have done any more than they did and I feel that my wife passed away with dignity and with her favourite staff member by her side. I would not hesitate to recommend this home for short or long term care."

"From the day my husband took up residence at Cedar Grange in October 2020 he was treated with kindness, compassion and most of all care in every aspect of the word. Nothing was too much trouble whatever the question when asked. The care team treated him as if he were one of their own. He settled in quite quickly and although we were unable to visit inside the home due to Covid - window visits were arranged with the provision of two-way speaker systems which enabled us to carry out conversations, thus keeping the contact. Sadly, he passed away in January after spending 2 weeks in hospital but as a family, we will always be grateful to everyone at Cedar Grange for all the support we received from them."

"This was Mum's first stay at a care home and although she was suffering from dementia and cancer, she was happy to stay here, as it is rural and she was able to access the garden which was very important to her, which was also the reason we were happy for her to stay. She also met old friends there. The staff were friendly and treated her like family and nothing was too much effort. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone having to find that special place for their loved ones."

"The team at Ash Croft House are exceptional. They gave our dad fun, love and laughter, as well as highly professional care and kindness during the last 18 months of his life. He quickly came to see it as his home and so did we. Seeing the high standard of care and fun he was having each day, enabled us to enjoy our last months with him and this has been a great comfort to us. We will never be able to thank the whole team enough."

"My husband is extremely content. The staff are very caring and kind. I don't know about activities as he is bed-bound. He is peg-fed, so cannot answer you about food and drink."

"Due to Coronavirus, I have only seen mum through the window and once in the garden. She has trouble hearing and it was difficult to discuss any issues. However, every time I meet the staff they are always friendly and helpful I am happy with their feedback."

"I just want to say that my mother is very well looked after by the staffs including manager from this care home. Communication is excellent and treated my mum and other residents like their relative with dignity. Most importantly I'm also really impressed with how they handle things/hygiene during difficult COVID situation and it is evident that there is no residents suffered with COVID, especially viewing by myself who has background medical profession. Thank you to all the staffs there."

"Having previously had a bad experience at another care home we were relieved that mum settled well at Cedar Grange. We felt that the staff made a real effort to get to know mum and were genuinely fond of her. We were always made to feel welcome and the staff were very accommodating. The management team are proactive and forward-thinking. Staff training is the key to an excellent CQC report next time. Thank you."

"Due to the lockdown, the home is not available to for visits nor are residents allowed out. This is good under the covid19 conditions. I was allowed a 1/2 hour visit two weeks ago, and not having seen my brother for four months, he was very communicative and in excellent health. We talked as if I had seen him only a week before the visit. The home is doing an excellent job of caring for my brother."

"I have great admiration for the way Cedar Grange coped with the pandemic. Lockdown was managed knowledgeably, consistently and sensitively. The home adapted efficiently to constantly changing situations keeping all residents safe and contented. The staff were cheerful and imaginative in their approach to residents well being with letters home, celebrations and a wide range of stimulating activities. They were always happy to give telephone updates and demonstrated a genuine concern for the callers well being. The management team and staff work tirelessly to ensure our loved ones have the best life possible."

"The current situation is very difficult for everyone and particularly for the staff in the care homes where our loved ones live. I can say without reservation that my Dad and all the residents have been kept safe and secure by these wonderful men and women. You should be very proud of yourselves, not just for the care you give but for raising awareness of the work you do in the face of ignorance by our government."

"Mum has been the most settled and happy that I have seen for some time. The staff are patient and caring, and she always seems well cared for. I've been very impressed with the way this pandemic has been handled at this time, and the efforts they have gone to keep families in touch via letters, video chats and timed controlled visits (now the restrictions are starting to be lifted)."

"Woodlands has always been a lovely place for my mum. She has been treated with dignity at all times. As a family we have always been made to feel very welcome, invited to all of the activities which are arranged frequently. During this Covid-19 the staff have been nothing more than brilliant. They have coped with everything as well as being stressed with looking after their own families. Can't thank them enough."
