Our care homes are family owned, this means we know all our homes and residents individually and understand the difference between specialist dementia care or simply looking after older people, unlike many care homes that are part of a larger care organisation where the residents are simply just a number.
Our Care Homes
Dementia and Alzheimer’s requires specialist nursing and understanding, which we provide through professionally qualified dementia nurses and carers. All our homes are equipped to care for older people and those with associated conditions such as short-term memory loss, dementia or Alzheimer’s.
However, some of our homes have specialist dementia units, which have been renovated to deliver the best in dementia care to our residents. If this is something that is specific to your needs please contact your local Cedars care home and they can advise you which homes offer specialist dementia care.
We focus on the need of every individual , which can vary greatly, and are with our residents every step of the way during the sometimes difficult development of dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Each home is equipped to meet everyone’s needs but at the same time providing a safe place to enjoy the facilities and be cared for by those who understand their conditions best. We have dedicated areas and are investing in activity rooms, sensory gardens and interiors, which are more stimulating to residents suffering from the onset of dementia.
It’s a difficult subject to come to terms with about a loved one, but we acknowledge that our residents’ condition can deteriorate and when this happens we work with the family and do all we can to ease the transition between phases. Whatever stage of dementia or Alzheimer’s our residents may suffer from they are always treated with the utmost respect and dignity.
As part of the ongoing development of our highly trained staff, we are forming partnerships with local specialists so that we can provide the very best advice.
