There is an excellent team of carers and nurses who I can see actually "care" about the residents and relatives. I feel very fortunate to have found such a great environment for my mother to be looked after in.

The lady who looks after the activities is excellent so we as a family are very happy to say to others this home is both caring and safe. My mother is happy so we are all happy.

Reminiscing

Our activity coordinator, Linda loves to hear stories from our residents.  She will sit with them one to one and ask them prompting question to help trigger memories.

Today she sat with our resident and asked her questions about the family members she has pictures of.  They both has a lovely time recalling funny stories.

Reminiscence gives a chance to talk about things that are meaningful. It boosts confidence, provides relief from boredom and give a chance to contribute to a conversation instead of simply listening. By connecting with the past, reminiscence may also improve a person’s sense of self-worth and feel connected to their family and the wider world.
