A great big thank you goes out to you all for your kindness, patience, caring and nursing care you gave to our dear sister.

When visiting, there is always a warm family feeling, which I am sure is felt by the residents.

Thank you all for your excellent care of our dear friend. It was so good to know he was in such good hands whilst he was going through such an awful illness.

Can’t fault the staff – absolutely brilliant. The new activities and Kathy the event’s organiser is great. My mum is really happy – Long may it last!

Derwent Care Home

The Derwent is a home in the true sense of the word; warm, comfortable and welcoming. A converted private hotel, the Victorian building has high ceilings and spacious bedrooms and communal areas. The bedrooms are a reflection of the people who stay in them and you could be forgiven for thinking you were visiting their bedrooms in their own home. The Derwent offers a range of room styles; from ones with period features to modern ones in the garden wing.

The Derwent has a large bright dining room and a spacious lounge which overlooks the garden. The communal areas of the home allow residents to relax with others and join in various activities where dedicated staff are on hand to assist with the individual resident’s needs. The attractive enclosed gardens allow our residents to maybe try their hand at gardening in raised flower beds or take a stroll to the fish pond or just relax and enjoy the fresh air.

We believe that everyone has their own story to tell and therefore make it our business to get to know about the people we care for by spending time getting to know each individual, what interests them and talk about the things they have achieved in their lives.
