Long Service Awards for Care Home Staff
At Cedars Care Group, that ‘home’ environment we’ve built at our care homes wouldn’t have been possible if our staff weren’t like family. We’re proud to say that some of them have been with us for over 20 years! This April marked the end of the Cedars Care Group Long Service Awards, which were presented to staff members across all of our UK care homes over the course of four months.
The first Long Service awards ceremony was held in December, at our North Somerset care home, Ellenborough. CEO Ty, and Group Operations Director, Lyndsey attended to present the awards. Receiving them were: Activities Coordinator, Jennylyn, for her 10 years of service with Cedars Care Group; and Housekeeper, Kim, for 15 years of working with us. Thank you both for your efforts and dedication over the years, and for giving Head Chef Angeline an incentive to bake a delicious, celebratory cake for the day, which we all enjoyed with you!
Our East Sussex care home, Derwent was next in line, when Ty and Lyndsey visited in January to present no less than 16 members of staff with the long time service award! 15 of the awards went out to members of the Derwent team. While one was for Jane, our Chef at sister care home Cedarwood House. Jane came up for the day to take part in the celebrations, and what a day it was. Between the 16 of them, their length of service to Cedars Care Group was 100 years!
Receiving awards for 5 years of service were: Sona – Healthcare Assistant; Monica – Healthcare Assistant; Jian – Head Chef; Marika – Healthcare Assistant; Barbara – Housekeeper; Chamila – Healthcare Assistant; Pauline – Floor Manager; Sharon – Healthcare Assistant; Jane – Chef; Adriana – Home Manager; Natasha; Wanchuan; and Karen.
Receiving awards for 10 years of service was: Tracy – Head Chef; and Paul – Facilities. And last but not least, receiving an award for a grand spanking 22 years of working with Cedars Care Group was Ann – Domestic.
Following a brief hiatus in February, our Long Service Awards was back in March, when we recognised the efforts of staff at our Somerset care home, Winscombe Hall. CEO, Ty presented awards to five members of the Winscombe team. Receiving them were: Lynda, Carol, Katie and Alison for 5 years of service; Ravi for 10 years of service; and Debbie for 17 years of service with us. Thank you all for your hard work!
In April, a large award ceremony was held at our Southport care home, Cedar Grange. CEO, Ty and Group Operations Director, Lyndsey were both in attendance along with staff from Ash Croft House and Woodlands Manor, who were also there to receive awards. 22 awards were presented in total. 10 of these went out to members of the Ash Croft House team; 4 of them were for members of the Cedar Grange team; 5 were for team members at Woodlands Manor; and 3 went out to members of the OST team.
Between them, the 22 members of staff gave Cedars Care Group 272 years of dedicated service. And if that’s not cause for celebration, we’re not sure what is! Floor Manager at Woodlands Manor, Michelle received an award for 5 years of service under her belt.
Receiving awards for 10 years of service were: Audrius – Maintenance; Virginija – Head Housekeeper at Woodlands Manor; Hayley – Assistant Housekeeper at Woodlands Manor; Margaret – Healthcare Assistant at Woodlands Manor; Vanessa – OST Group Quality Assurance Manager; Mavis, Christine and Rebecca from Cedar Grange; as well as Anne and Sarah from of Ashcroft House.
Receiving awards for 15 and 17 years of service were: Katy – Healthcare Assistant at Ash Croft House; Margaret – Domestic at Ash Croft House; Mavis from Cedar Grange; and Stephanie – OST Care Manager, respectively.

The awards were concluded at our Head Office in Beckenham, where we recognised the dedicated service of Diana. Diana has been with us for five long year. She received her award from CEO, Ty and Director, Sarah. To her, and every member of staff who has helped us build and nurture our homes away from homes: thank you. We couldn’t have come this far without you.
