There is an excellent team of carers and nurses who I can see actually "care" about the residents and relatives. I feel very fortunate to have found such a great environment for my mother to be looked after in.

The lady who looks after the activities is excellent so we as a family are very happy to say to others this home is both caring and safe. My mother is happy so we are all happy.

The care and attention that was given was wonderful. Full marks to everybody in the home.

Cooking Club at Cedarwood House

The cooking club at Cedarwood House is a weekly occurrence that is loved by both staff and residents alike.  Deciding what to bake or cook is no mean feat, and can take some time to find a suitable recipe.  In order to help us out with this most important part of the cooking club at Cedarwood House, we have asked our families to send us in their favourite recipes.  We are hoping to get a good response, to give our cooking club even more choices.

The recipe chosen for the first week of February was for shortbread biscuits.  Our recipe can been seen in the picture below, but if you would like to try a different one you could visit  BBC Good Food where they have a variety of different shortbread recipes.

Our lovely Ann, Muriel, Thomas and Mary, enjoyed getting stuck in to the mixing, rolling and cutting.  Marco, Claire and Chloe were on hand to help out when needed.  Baking is a great way to spend time together and to catch up with all the gossip.

The end result was a tray of delicious shortbread biscuits, that were shared with everyone during afternoon tea.  We love to see our residents faces when they share out the treats they have made.
