Cedars Care Group Residents Raise Over a Grand for Alzheimer’s Society
On October 10th, Cedars Care Group residents and staff joined thousands of people united against dementia at Memory Walk. Their efforts raised £1154.
Last year, Cedars Care Group staff from London to Liverpool took part in Memory Walk in bid to help Alzheimer’s society transform the landscape of dementia forever. Following our success, we decided to up our game this October, and our numbers! Residents from our two Southport Care homes, Cedar Grange Care Centre and Woodlands Manor, put on their walking shoes for the cause. They were joined by CCG care staff and head office staff along with our Director’s Sarah and Ty.
The support we received was phenomenal, with donations pouring in from all over the UK. A grand spanking sum of £1154 and 10 pence was raised in total. All money has gone to the Alzheimer’s Society, towards funding dementia research and helping those affected. Cedars Care Group are proud to be part of Memory Walk every year, an initiative that does wonders in putting dementia on the map and raising awareness of a condition that is on the rise.
“We are so grateful for all your fundraising efforts,” said Sharon Scarry, in a letter we Cedars Care staff received from the Alzheimer’s Society earlier this week. “Please pass on our thanks to everyone in your group who have been so generous in supporting Alzheimer’s Society.”
At Cedars Care Group homes, the person-centred care we provide is geared towards helping to improve the lives of elderly residents living with dementia and Alzheimer’s. It’s our job to support them and their families through the difficult journey of a progressive brain disorder. This year at Memory Walk, Cedars Care Group participants included many residents with dementia and many family members supporting them. Thank you for all your generous donations. If you’d still like to donate, you can do through our JustGiving Page.
